After a looong break, it’s time for work again. Funny, ‘coz I had an interestingly, crazy back-to-office day.

• Norhaini’s disappearing act. My friend, Nor, got us (her parents and me) so worried. Her parents contacted me because they cannot reach Nor through her phone. I basically bugged everyone. I’ve called everyone I know, e.g. Ima, that might discern Nor’s whereabouts. The paranoid me. Well, it turned out that there’s no network coverage in the area and she’s just in her dormitory the whole time. Thank God :) 
• lbm. I don’t want to elaborate on this. Sooo embarrassing. Thanks to our clinic’s nurse and Imodium
• basketball practice. The scrimmage  was fun although have mush to learn about this sport.
• Encounter with Manong Maniac Taxi Driver.After our ball practice (about 10 something pm), I took a cab home. The taxi driver started conversing about his “escapades”. I felt like I want to throw up and jump off his taxi because this guy, in a way, was harassing me.

Taxi Driver: “Miss, san kayo?”

Ann: “South Star Plaza po, sa may South Super Hi-way. Malapit pos a AMA Makati.”

Taxi Driver: “Ah, may inihatid ako dun dati, bading. Sabi pa sa akin nun, ‘Akyat ka muna, boundary-han na lang kita.’ . Sabi ko, Php5000 ang boundary ko” *blah blah*

Hindi na pinakinggan ni ni Ann, too much information… kadiri…

Taxi Driver: “San ka galling?”

Ann: “Ah, basketball practice po.”

Taxi Driver: “Kala ko kase nag-gym ka.”

Ann, nakasuout ng shorts, t-shirt at rubber shoes.

Taxi Driver: “Nagtatrabaho ka ba ditto? Anong kurso mo?”

Ann: “Computer Science po.”

Taxi Driver: “A maganda yan. Yan ung mga chat, chat di ba?”

Ann: …

Taxi Driver: “Yung chatroom, cyber sex, mga ganun. Uso ngayon yan ano? Buti nga yun safe kase hindi ka mabuntis  ano?”

Taxi Driver: “Di ba? Di ba?”

Ann: “Ah, opo” *No choice, napilitang sumagot*

Taxi Driver: “May naging textmate ng ako, 16 years old. Hindi ko talaga makalimutan. Sobrang galling. Ganoon pala yun ano, hindi mo talaga makalimutan. Biruin mo 16 years old palang ang giling na!”

Sobrang hindi na kinakaya ni Ann…
Nakatakot na din.

Ann: “…”

Taxi Driver: “Di ba? Di ba?”

Ann: “Ah, opo…”

Napilitang sumagot.

Malapit na sa South Star…

Taxi Driver: “Madalas ka bang magtaxi?”

Ann: “Pag po gabi na tsaka pag nagmamadali po.”

Taxi Driver: “Ah, jan lang ako sa may Evangelista nakatira. Pag kailangan mo ng taxi, text mo ako.”

Sa wakas… South Star Plaza na…

Iniabot na ni Ann ang bayad…

Taxi Driver: “Eto number ko, text mo ako, ako pala si Robert.”

Ann: “Ah…”

Taxi Driver: “Eto number ko oh.” Ipinakita ang cellphone number kay Ann. “Anong number mo? Miss call mo ako para makuha number mo.”

Ann: “Ay, wag nap o. Sige po.”

Sabay baba ng sasakyan. Patakbong pumasok ng building. Hindi na lumingon…

That was the conversation I had with “Maniac” driver (from what I recall).

Sana hindi na maulit… Kasuka! Katakot!

I should have noted his plate number though. tsk.. tsk..

I think I’ll be riding jeepneys for the mean time.
