anntuts and joanna
we – Joanna and I – had a super great 5 day vacation!
We went to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia (Malaysia Truly Asia) and Singapura (Uniquely Singapore) — let’s make tag lines like these for Philippines! The experience was thrilling and our wits and strengths were tested throughout the trip.
Wew!
Few days before the trip, we started drafting our itinerary. Hands down to Jo because she really dig into the details on where to go, how to get there, what time, what delicacy to savor, things that a traveler should know
wahaha! I was just beside her the whole time, cheering
**Go Jo! Go!
Tip: Don’t travel alone. If you want to be lonely then that’s fine. It’s nice to go places with someone to share the moment to.
Here’s our itinerary for the 5 day trip: itinerary1 itinerary2
See, with matching notes and everything. You won’t miss anything ![]()
But due to weather and time constraints and others (wakeup call and downtime – whenever we get lost), the finalized schedule was not followed. Hahah! As what we both call it – charge to experience!
Â
On Board to KL Sept23
About 8:30 PM, we got on Cebu Pacific flight 5J 501 MNL to KLIA. That was about 3 and a half hours travel time.

** NAIA Terminal 3 was “huge but emptyâ€.
Â
Malaysia Truly Asia Sept24
About 12:30 AM we set foot to Malaysia. Eric (Orgmate/Friend) and Ken(Eric’s friend) met us at the airport, took a bus to KL Central then taxi to Eric’s pad in Petaling Jaya Serangon. We asked Eric if we could crash at his place while we’re in KL. He was so kind.

First Stop
After our catnap, we went straight to KLCC to get tickets up Petronas Twin Towers Sky Bridge. We got 10:45 AM Tickets! Lucky! They say that it was hard getting tickets for the tower but then there was no queue when we got there
sweet!

To kill time, we looked around Suria, and changed our peso to ringgit (1RM=13.something Peso). Then we went back for our Sky Bridge tour.

After Petronas, we had our lunch. We dined at Madam Kwan’s and tried their renowned Nasi Lemak. If your into spicy food, this food is for you.

nasi lemak
After that overwhelming lunch, we went to Aquaria. They have the longest tunnel ever!

sa tunnel ng Aquaria
We referred to our list and it was time to go KL Tower. We got lost and worst, it rained hard! **chaching! Charge to experience!
Then we went back to Eric’s place, freshened up. Met Eric at the train station and had dinner at Sushi King together with Kat and her boyfriend Kuya Dan.

wala si Kuya Dan, sya ang kumuha ng pic ahehe
After that wonderful Japanese cuisine, we bought bus tickets to Singapore. Our ever dearest Eric took us to the Bus Station. Left 10:30 PM and came to SG at around 4 or 4:30 AM.
Uniquely Singapore Sept 25

Esplanade and Merlion Park
Tip: If you are going to a different country, please change your peso or dollar to the country’s currency. – we learned our lesson ![]()
With no SG Dollar in our pockets, we searched for Mustafa – it has 24hrs Money Changer. We had a lot of things in our heads that we forgot to exchange our money to SG Dollars **sigh, what a pity. We’ll call this event, “The Amazing Mustafa Raceâ€. **chaching! Charge to experience!
Then we went to the nearest MRT station – Farrer Park and went to Sengkang, where we’ll be staying.
Another amazing thing happened, after we got off the Sengkang train, we transferred the LRT to go to Rumbia and we board the different route! **chaching! Charge to experience!
We were so tired and hungry… we had a hard time finding Ate Lhen’s place. Hay… **chaching! Charge to experience!
We took a bath and rest for a bit then we went to Esplanade and Merlion Park. A lot of construction going on because of the Grand Prix.
After that, a very long walk to Clarke Quay station. We’re going to Vivo City to buy tickets for Sentosa. In Vivo City we had our lunch and board a train to Sentosa.

Yummy phad thai
Sentosa is a very nice place. I want to go back there! We went to Images of Singapore, Sky Tower, Sentosa 4D Magix, Butterfly Park, Songs of the Sea and boarded the Cable Car.

Then we went to Funan to get a camera for Jo but then when we got there, it was already closed.
Singapura Adventure Day 2 Sept 26
After a nice long sleep, we went to Funan, had brunch and bought Jo’s camera.
Then we went to Orchard Road and met Sandy (Jo’s friend) in Lucky Mall (the Filipino Mall in SG). We took a quick tour of Orchard Road. You’ll find a lot of shopping malls there.
Then we went to China Town. We tried satay – the peanut sauce… hmmmm… yummy!
Then Sandy went back to have dinner with her family and we went to Lavender Station to reserve tickets back to KL. Then we bought souvenirs at a divi-like market **sorry I forgot the name, it starts with Bis-something.
Then we went to City Hall Station to meet Bramble and Myrels. Waaahh! I missed these bruhas sooo much! We had no time to chit chat over dinner because we were scheduled to go back to Malaysia by 9:30PM. We just took pictures and a little kamustahan.

BRUHAS: The SG Reunion
Welcome Back to KL
The trips were so tiring ha.
We went back to Eric’s place. And we met Roselle. Ahaha! I like her! We both love Nakatsu! Ahaha! Lokang babae, and super nakakatuwa sya ![]()
We rest for a bit then Ken took us out for breakfast. We ate at Kopi Bug. I liked their sticky rice with chicken inside and their noodles are good too.
After breakfast, we went to Central Market.

Fish Spa!
Then China Town. There’s a store there that I love so much because it was a haven of Anime, Korean and Taiwanese DVDs!
Char siew and Assam laksa

Then we met Ate Cabu at Starbucks in KLCC (at last! After years and years that we haven’t seen her). We took pics of Petronas at night, wonderful!

ann, ate cabu, jo
We had Vietnamese food – bongsen resto, for dinner together with Eric and Ken.

Vietnamese ‘pho’

Before we go back to PJ, we pampered ourselves with body massage (Eric and Ken) and foot massage at Big Foot (located at the station after Asia Jaya LRT).
Â
Bye bye KL Sept28
Our last day in KL.
We went to Lake Gardens and visited the hibiscus and orchid garden then bird farm.

After that we went to Beryl’s! I love Coffee Time!

coffee time
Then we went to KL Tower. Finally!

KL Tower view
Then we went back to PJ to pack our things because we’ll be leaving KL that night.

dinner with eric’s housemates
Eric’s housemates (Roselle, Ate Didith, Kuya Clark and Sam) were so friendly and accommodating. They are all Filipinos except for Ken – his Malay/Chinese. We had dinner at a Thai Resto and had a lot of laughs! I miss them already
I really like Sam a lot. I want to have another baby sister! She’s so cute and super kulet! Wahaha!

amishu Sam!
It’s time for us to go home… Flight 5J 502 from KLIA to MNL.
The “piso fare” made our Kuala Lumpur/Singapore trip possible. Wahaha! If I may say, this vacation is by far the most exciting and adventurous one yet!

i took a week long vacation from work — sooo nice ![]()
and had an extra day off because of the holiday [june9th] lucky! ahehe…
our journey begins….
may31 6:30am ninoy international airport

hongkong experience day 1
may31 8:30am hongkong international airport
the flight was super fast! ahehe. the minute i stepped out of the plane, i was like, “wow….“. the airport was huge! ahehe. it was nothing compared from the one we departed [no offense]
welcome to hongkong!

itenerary:
day1: meet tatay at the airport. anything goes.
day2: city tour and ocean park at noon.
day3: disneyland
day4: welcome back to the Philippines!

sometimes i think our company go way overboard when it comes to advertising

first meal in HK: Japanese Noodles
excited? hell yeah!
just waiting… ahaha!
we waited for tatay’s [dad]Â arrival. i think he arrived 1:30pm.

i missed him dearly. it was 2years since we last saw him. he’s working abroad, saudi, and in his contract, he can go home every 2 years and have a 2 month vacation. he’s been doing this for almost 15 years now.

view from the hotel window
immediately after his arrival, we went to our hotel - wing sing hotel. it was not a fancy hotel and well at least there’s a place that we can stay
it’s located midtown hongkong. when we’ve checked in, we had a quick rest, ate dinner and went to mongkong [ladies' market]; by the way, our hotel is corner temple street [night market]. it was an 8minute walk from our hotel to mongkong. alot of stores and alot of people. it was like divisoria [actually i haven't been in divi
but i think the set-up of the stores are the same -- in my imagination
ahehe].
**nathan road pics

i smile whenever i hear someone speaking tagalog - ahehe, andami palang Filipino dun. ahaha! immitation bags, shoes and watches are the main goods that they are selling. my sister, cheng, and i were looking at some souvenier items when the sales lady approached us, we were about to leave but then she kept lowering the price and insisting us to buy. she even handed a calculator and asked us to type the amount that we want for the product. ahehe. carzy huh? aside from the divi-like stores, there are also signatures stores along nathan road.
hongkong experience day 2

tony, our guide and inay’s [mother] contact, met us at our hotel for the city tour. we stroll around hongkong. we went from nathan road, to the harbor, to downtown hongkong, cameron road, to the old hongkong airport and to jc jewelry. they say that the jewelry in jc’s are much cheaper than the ones you buy at other stores because they produce it
[plus they offer lifetime warranty] you can see there workshop from there. i’m not a jewelry kind of gal but still i enjoyed the pieces
i even saw a picture of former president ramos in the store
they say that hongkong’s main products are opticals and jewelry. tony even said that we came at the right time because come july, when the goodies in HK are on sale, we won’t be able to book for a hotel.

after the “field” trip, we went to ocean park! yey! pandas, sea lions, dolphins, jellyfish, sharks, different kinds of fish, name it, you’ll see here
although the park is under renovation, i think they’ll be putting up quite a number of attractions, we had great fun exploring the whole place
i will never forget my first cable car ride… i don’t know if i fear heights but riding the car makes my hands super sweaty as in flood.
ahaha! but the view compensated
there was this show, dolphins and seal show, and that the front act was a band. they played “anak” by fredie aguilar and alot of audience just gone “wooohooo” and making all these noises and clapping. that made me realize, Filipinos are all around HK, ahehe! nice

hongkong experience day 3

disneyland! yey! i just wished i was a child again — about 7-10 years old
but then you don’t need to be a kid to enjoy the carousel ride at DISNEYLAND! it was like a dream come true. wahaha! i was excited to see PIGLET! but then i only saw pooh and eeyore
well, it was fine… at least i saw the disney princesses - aurora, belle, cinderella [back only] and my fave [next to ariel] snow white
they’re soooo pretty and cute
they’re like animation brought to life
had an exciting jungle river cruise and visited tarzan’s tree house. i enjoyed talking to crush [the turtle dude in finding nemo], watching the festival of the lion king and the 3d adventure in mickey’s philharmagic
i also enjoyed buzz lightyear astro blaster where we got to blast zurg and his evil minions
and the dizzy mad hatter tea cups ride. i had in “it’s a small world” and got soaked during mickey’s waterworld parade! ahaha!

sleeping beauty castle

mickey’s waterworld parade

disneyland hotel

but then it actually rained during the parade so you couldn’t tell if you got wet from the rain or from the parade
but the rain did not stop us from having fun at the park
it was great that the rain stopped in time with the highschool musical live performance! we also visited the disneyland hotel and before the park closes, watched the fireworks display. the fireworks display is awesome! i want to go back again!

at tomorrowland

ooohhh piglet!

with prince caspian

hongkong experience day 4
went to downtown and done more shopping.

10:30pm CX905 our flight back to Manila. we thought it’ll be delayed because the weather was not good but then we’re here! ahehe. it sucks that Duty Free was closed when we came back, i have no chocolates for my friends, housemates and officemates — super sorry, not my fault, ahehe

the trip was tiring, yet super fun! i think it also bonded our whole family — yes whole! finally after 2 years. the only diffulty that i think we had during the trip, aside from the over crowded streets was language barrier. and by the way, i forgot to mention, the traffiic in HK is way way great than here
ahehe
waahhh! can’t believe that my vacation is over… don’t want to work yet…
huhuhuhu….
i got Fahrenheit’s CD!!!! waaahhh! i’m so loving chun :-* and aaron too :-* XOXO

heard wu chun will be visiting the Philippines in July! lucky are the chun fans

Fahrenheit: from left: aaron, jiro, chun and calvin
