Bwahaha! Been hiatus for weeks!!! No plurk, no FB, no idlip for weeks. Ahaha! A busy bee, deadlines to beat, projects to submit, whew! But the past few weeks are fun :-D we had our Cebu trip, a lot of great movies, I had my first spa experience, joined Gawad Kalinga and recently joined AMCI (Ayala Mountaineering Club Incorporated) orientation. Wahaha! All that in a month! Ahaha! It really poured at the start of the rainy season huh!?!

We just watched Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and I want to watch it again!!! Waaahhh! I so love Shia! And Oh my gosh, I’ve never seen a woman so sexy even when covered with sand and all! Ahaha! Megan Fox is soooo hot! Ahaha! I want to watch it again!

Words to ponder:
“Kabilugan ng buwan, buwan ng kabilugan”

Anntuts is looking forward to:
- First training session (AMCI)
- Home for the Aged visit this Sunday
- First climb to San Cristobal this July
- Bora on November
I’ll try to post all my adventures in the next couple of days :-D ahehe…

Happy Easter everyone! Waaahhh!

What a crazy weekend! Most of my vacation I spent playing Fashion Wars! Waaahh! There’s so much applications in Facebook! I have soooo much things to do [work related :-P] as in sooo sooo much that I think I don’t know where to start :-P ahaha! *I just mentioned it :-P* I think even though I had this super long weekend to relax and stuff, I can’t seem to cut myself from thinking about all the work that I’ll be doing *I guess that’s why I always play Fashion Wars! Ahaha!* oh well enough of my crappy whining and complaining and all that stuff :-P chill… let’s talk about my week :-P

Mixed emotions this week… pressure, upset stomach, bad headache plus an empty wallet! Ahaha! Crappy :-P and sometimes life gets pretty sh*tty – what my brother always say :-P. but hey! Life is not always smiles :-D we’ll have to deal with it :-) ahaha! I’m complaining again :-(

Holy week… I feel guilty because I feel that I did not do my part venerating the season :-P bad me…

This Saturday I went jogging with friends and it was so refreshing :-D jogging, biking around sampaloc lake :-) laughing… chatting with close friends :-D super nice [see my multiply site for pics :-D]

Internet… it’s my buddy almost the whole week :-D sometimes, killing the time, I goolgle my name :-P ahaha! I just type Ann Banayo, Zarina Ann Banayo, Zarina Ann R. Banayo and just browse the links that will appear after you hit the search button :-P ahaha! Just one of Ann’s ways of spending the time off :-P ahaha! I also browse for the gadgets/accessories that I’ve been dying to have :-P ahaha! I blogged about ShopWiki.com before [see my previous post] and this site is a very helpful specially my searching stuffs in the net. Price ranges, specifications, stores, brands and even by color; you could use in searching the item that you need. Pretty handy, you could check out this one stop shop online store :-D and yeah, Facebook and idlip is the sites that I visit most often now :-P ahehe! Add me in Fashion Wars! Ahaha! I’m hooked! taste of Pinatubo
Posted on March 23rd, 2009 at 12:31 am by Ann

Saturday, March 21, 2009 approximately 11 something AM, we reached Mt. Pinatubo’s crater and it was amazing!

The Pinatubo experience was unforgettable and was a lot of fun :-) Ate[Mommy] Wins, Mark, Jeca [Mark’s Girlfriend], Greyz, Narod, Marco, Yumi, Mitch, Pilo, Frytz, BJ [Ate Win’s friend, which I thought was a boy :-P but turns out she’s not :-P] were my buddies in the day trip :-)

Here’s our itinerary [by Ate Wins]
02:30am - Assembly at Shell/McDo Ortigas

06:30am - 4 x 4 ride to jump off point

Ate Wins gave us the itinerary and some tips on what to bring, what to wear and all sort of stuff for the trip and that helped me a lot preparing :-P and they teased me about that :-P they said I was in full battle gear :-p wahehe

The view of the site was amazing and so mesmerizing, you will really appreciate nature :-D I will never forget the 4×4 ride [I got to taste mud, ashes, earth, lahat na :-P] and swimming in Pinatubo’s crater [I love swimming but swimming in the crater was a bit scary for me, it was like the bottom was a black hole that will gobble you up but I was just imagining things hehe :-P it’s scary if you can’t see the bottom  :-P] The water there was freezing, I thought it would be lukewarm :-P wahaha!

Thanks to the two kuya manong guides for carrying our lunch and guiding us to the crater [I was afraid of getting lost… remember anawangin?] and kuya *I forgot the name* for letting us take a bathe in your house after the trek, super thanks :-)
Before going home, we had dinner at Dencios metrowalk [Ate Wins was not there though, she had to go home because her mom was looking for her already]. I arrived at our apartment, 1something AM I guess. I was super exhausted plus aching muscles :-D but it was fun!

**I did not take any pictures, just this one though [and it's blurred :-P] Ate Wins, Greyz, Narod, Frytz brought their SLRs and Mark took a lot of pictures, I’ll just grab the pictures from them :-P ahehe

my cam’s only pic [blurred :( sowee] from the trip

injury? i got this before the Pinatubo hike, it got worse during the trek but it was okay, it’s just a tiny wound :-P

Ann’s Do Nothing Days
Posted on January 7th, 2009 at 4:41 pm by Ann

Do nothing day… I got this phrase from a Disney Channel’s program, Phineas and Ferb.
Ann’s do nothing day agenda:
a. Wake up around 10am – 12 nn
b. Lay on the sofa
c. Watch TV
d. Eat
e. Goofing around with my siblings and our perverted dog  - night
f. Sleep some more…
Do nothing days… this phrase practically describes my past days here at home. This holiday season has been the longest non-working holiday ever – almost 2 week vacation! It’s nice to spend the day doing nothing once in awhile :-P this two weeks sort of relaxation days for me, though occassionally I’m thinking about the pile of work that will be welcoming me when I step on the office on the 5th! The horror! Waaahh! Ahaha! Anywho, I still got to have my do nothing days… which is so sluggishly fun! :-D

Tatay arrived yesterday, for my parent’s wedding anniversary!

Happy 25th wedding anniversary Inay and Tatay!

anntuts and joanna

we – Joanna and I – had a super great 5 day vacation!
We went to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia (Malaysia Truly Asia) and Singapura (Uniquely Singapore) — let’s make tag lines like these for Philippines! The experience was thrilling and our wits and strengths were tested throughout the trip.

Wew!

Few days before the trip, we started drafting our itinerary. Hands down to Jo because she really dig into the details on where to go, how to get there, what time, what delicacy to savor, things that a traveler should know :-P wahaha! I was just beside her the whole time, cheering :-D **Go Jo! Go!
Tip:  Don’t travel alone. If you want to be lonely then that’s fine. It’s nice to go places with someone to share the moment to.

Here’s our itinerary for the 5 day trip: itinerary1 itinerary2

See, with matching notes and everything. You won’t miss anything :-D
But due to weather and time constraints and others (wakeup call and downtime – whenever we get lost), the finalized schedule was not followed. Hahah! As what we both call it – charge to experience!

On Board to KL Sept23
About 8:30 PM, we got on Cebu Pacific flight 5J 501 MNL to KLIA. That was about 3 and a half hours travel time.

naia3_2.jpg

naia3.jpg

** NAIA Terminal 3 was “huge but empty”.

Malaysia Truly Asia Sept24
About 12:30 AM we set foot to Malaysia. Eric (Orgmate/Friend) and Ken(Eric’s friend) met us at the airport, took a bus to KL Central then taxi to Eric’s pad in Petaling Jaya Serangon. We asked Eric if we could crash at his place while we’re in KL. He was so kind.

First Stop
After our catnap, we went straight to KLCC to get tickets up Petronas Twin Towers Sky Bridge. We got 10:45 AM Tickets! Lucky! They say that it was hard getting tickets for the tower but then there was no queue when we got there :-) sweet!

dsc01569.jpg

To kill time, we looked around Suria, and changed our peso to ringgit (1RM=13.something Peso). Then we went back for our Sky Bridge tour.

dsc01570.jpg

dsc01577.jpg

After Petronas, we had our lunch. We dined at Madam Kwan’s and tried their renowned Nasi Lemak. If your into spicy food, this food is for you.

dsc01626.jpg

nasi lemak

After that overwhelming  lunch, we went to Aquaria. They have the longest tunnel ever!

dsc01745.jpg

sa tunnel ng Aquaria

We referred to our list and it was time to go KL Tower.  We got lost and worst, it rained hard! **chaching! Charge to experience!

Then we went back to Eric’s place, freshened up. Met Eric  at the train station and had dinner at Sushi King together with Kat and her boyfriend Kuya Dan.

dsc01800.jpg

wala si Kuya Dan, sya ang kumuha ng pic ahehe

After that wonderful Japanese cuisine, we bought bus tickets to Singapore. Our ever dearest Eric took us to the Bus Station. Left 10:30 PM and came to SG at around 4 or 4:30 AM.

Uniquely Singapore Sept 25

dsc01883.jpg

Esplanade and Merlion Park

Tip: If you are going to a different country, please change your peso or dollar to the country’s currency.  – we learned our lesson :-P

With no SG Dollar in our pockets, we searched for Mustafa – it has 24hrs Money Changer. We had a lot of things in our heads that we forgot to exchange our money to SG Dollars **sigh, what a pity. We’ll call this event, “The Amazing Mustafa Race”. **chaching! Charge to experience!

Then we went to the nearest MRT station – Farrer Park and went to Sengkang, where we’ll be staying.

Another amazing thing happened, after we got off the Sengkang train, we transferred the LRT to go to Rumbia and we board the different route!  **chaching! Charge to experience!

We were so tired and hungry… we had a hard time finding Ate Lhen’s place. Hay… **chaching! Charge to experience!

We took a bath and rest for a bit then we went to Esplanade and Merlion Park. A lot of construction going on because of the Grand Prix.

After that, a very long walk to Clarke Quay station. We’re going to Vivo City to buy tickets for Sentosa. In Vivo City we had our lunch and board a train to Sentosa.

dsc01914.jpg
Yummy phad thai

Sentosa is a very nice place. I want to go back there! We went to Images of Singapore, Sky Tower, Sentosa 4D Magix, Butterfly Park, Songs of the Sea and boarded the Cable Car.

Then we went to Funan to get a camera for Jo but then when we got there, it was already closed.

Singapura Adventure Day 2 Sept 26
After a nice long sleep, we went to Funan, had brunch and bought Jo’s camera.

Then we went to Orchard Road and met Sandy (Jo’s friend) in Lucky Mall (the Filipino Mall in SG). We took a quick tour of Orchard Road. You’ll find a lot of shopping malls there.

Then we went to China Town. We tried satay – the peanut sauce… hmmmm… yummy!

Then Sandy went back to have dinner with her family and we went to Lavender Station to reserve tickets back to KL. Then we bought souvenirs at a divi-like market **sorry I forgot the name, it starts with Bis-something.

Then we went to City Hall Station to meet Bramble and Myrels. Waaahh! I missed these bruhas sooo much! We had no time to chit chat over dinner because we were scheduled to go back to Malaysia by 9:30PM. We just took pictures and a little kamustahan.

dsc02066.jpg

BRUHAS: The SG Reunion

Welcome Back to KL
The trips were so tiring ha.
We went back to Eric’s place. And we met Roselle. Ahaha! I like her! We both love Nakatsu! Ahaha! Lokang babae, and super nakakatuwa sya :-)
We rest for a bit then Ken took us out for breakfast. We ate at Kopi Bug. I liked their sticky rice with chicken inside and their noodles are good too.

After breakfast, we went to Central Market.

dsc02090.jpg

Fish Spa!

Then China Town. There’s a store there that I love so much because it was a haven of Anime, Korean and Taiwanese DVDs!

Char siew and Assam laksa
dsc02102.jpg

dsc02106.jpg

Then we met Ate Cabu at Starbucks in KLCC (at last! After years and years that we haven’t seen her). We took pics of Petronas at night, wonderful!

dsc02110.jpg

We had Vietnamese food – bongsen resto, for dinner together with Eric and Ken.

Before we go back to PJ, we pampered ourselves with body massage (Eric and Ken) and foot massage at Big Foot (located at the station after Asia Jaya LRT).

Bye bye KL Sept28
Our last day in KL.
We went to Lake Gardens and visited the hibiscus and orchid garden then bird farm.

dsc02222.jpg

After that we went to Beryl’s! I love Coffee Time!

dsc02553.jpg

Then we went to KL Tower. Finally!

Then we went back to PJ to pack our things because we’ll be leaving KL that night.

dinner with eric’s housemates

Eric’s housemates (Roselle, Ate Didith, Kuya Clark and Sam) were so friendly and accommodating. They are all Filipinos except for Ken – his Malay/Chinese.  We had dinner at a Thai Resto and had a lot of laughs! I miss them already :-(

I really like Sam a lot. I want to have another baby sister! She’s so cute and super kulet! Wahaha!

amishu Sam!

It’s time for us to go home…  Flight 5J 502 from KLIA to MNL.

The “piso fare” made our Kuala Lumpur/Singapore trip possible. Wahaha! If I may say, this vacation is by far the most exciting and adventurous one yet!

Check out our pics in my multiply site: bahay anntukin.

i took a week long vacation from work — sooo nice ;)
and had an extra day off because of the holiday [june9th] lucky! ahehe…

our journey begins….

may31 6:30am ninoy international airport

hongkong experience day 1
may31 8:30am hongkong international airport

the flight was super fast! ahehe. the minute i stepped out of the plane, i was like, “wow….“. the airport was huge! ahehe. it was nothing compared from the one we departed [no offense]

welcome to hongkong!

banner

itenerary:
day1: meet tatay at the airport. anything goes.
day2: city tour and ocean park at noon.
day3: disneyland
day4: welcome back to the Philippines!

sometimes i think our company go way overboard when it comes to advertising :-P

first meal in HK: Japanese Noodles :-P

excited? hell yeah!

just waiting… ahaha! :-P

we waited for tatay’s [dad] arrival. i think he arrived 1:30pm.

i missed him dearly. it was 2years since we last saw him. he’s working abroad, saudi, and in his contract, he can go home every 2 years and have a 2 month vacation. he’s been doing this for almost 15 years now.

view from the hotel window

immediately after his arrival, we went to our hotel - wing sing hotel. it was not a fancy hotel and well at least there’s a place that we can stay :-P it’s located midtown hongkong. when we’ve checked in, we had a quick rest, ate dinner and went to mongkong [ladies' market]; by the way, our hotel is corner temple street [night market]. it was an 8minute walk from our hotel to mongkong. alot of stores and alot of people. it was like divisoria [actually i haven't been in divi :-P but i think the set-up of the stores are the same -- in my imagination :-P ahehe].

**nathan road pics

i smile whenever i hear someone speaking tagalog - ahehe, andami palang Filipino dun. ahaha! immitation bags, shoes and watches are the main goods that they are selling. my sister, cheng, and i were looking at some souvenier items when the sales lady approached us, we were about to leave but then she kept lowering the price and insisting us to buy. she even handed a calculator and asked us to type the amount that we want for the product. ahehe. carzy huh? aside from the divi-like stores, there are also signatures stores along nathan road.

hongkong experience day 2

tony, our guide and inay’s [mother] contact, met us at our hotel for the city tour. we stroll around hongkong. we went from nathan road, to the harbor, to downtown hongkong, cameron road, to the old hongkong airport and to jc jewelry. they say that the jewelry in jc’s are much cheaper than the ones you buy at other stores because they produce it :-D [plus they offer lifetime warranty] you can see there workshop from there. i’m not a jewelry kind of gal but still i enjoyed the pieces :-D i even saw a picture of former president ramos in the store ;) they say that hongkong’s main products are opticals and jewelry. tony even said that we came at the right time because come july, when the goodies in HK are on sale, we won’t be able to book for a hotel.

after the “field” trip, we went to ocean park! yey! pandas, sea lions, dolphins, jellyfish, sharks, different kinds of fish, name it, you’ll see here :) although the park is under renovation, i think they’ll be putting up quite a number of attractions, we had great fun exploring the whole place :) i will never forget my first cable car ride… i don’t know if i fear heights but riding the car makes my hands super sweaty as in flood. :-P ahaha! but the view compensated ;) there was this show, dolphins and seal show, and that the front act was a band. they played “anak” by fredie aguilar and alot of audience just gone “wooohooo” and making all these noises and clapping. that made me realize, Filipinos are all around HK, ahehe! nice ;)

hongkong experience day 3

disneyland! yey! i just wished i was a child again — about 7-10 years old :-D but then you don’t need to be a kid to enjoy the carousel ride at DISNEYLAND! it was like a dream come true. wahaha! i was excited to see PIGLET! but then i only saw pooh and eeyore :( well, it was fine… at least i saw the disney princesses - aurora, belle, cinderella [back only] and my fave [next to ariel] snow white :-D they’re soooo pretty and cute :) they’re like animation brought to life :-D had an exciting jungle river cruise and visited tarzan’s tree house. i enjoyed talking to crush [the turtle dude in finding nemo], watching the festival of the lion king and the 3d adventure in mickey’s philharmagic :-D i also enjoyed buzz lightyear astro blaster where we got to blast zurg and his evil minions :-D and the dizzy mad hatter tea cups ride. i had in “it’s a small world” and got soaked during mickey’s waterworld parade! ahaha!

sleeping beauty castle

mickey’s waterworld parade

disneyland hotel

but then it actually rained during the parade so you couldn’t tell if you got wet from the rain or from the parade ;) but the rain did not stop us from having fun at the park :) it was great that the rain stopped in time with the highschool musical live performance! we also visited the disneyland hotel and before the park closes, watched the fireworks display. the fireworks display is awesome! i want to go back again! :)

at tomorrowland

ooohhh piglet!

with prince caspian

hongkong experience day 4

went to downtown and done more shopping.

10:30pm CX905 our flight back to Manila. we thought it’ll be delayed because the weather was not good but then we’re here! ahehe. it sucks that Duty Free was closed when we came back, i have no chocolates for my friends, housemates and officemates — super sorry, not my fault, ahehe ;)

the trip was tiring, yet super fun! i think it also bonded our whole family — yes whole! finally after 2 years. the only diffulty that i think we had during the trip, aside from the over crowded streets was language barrier. and by the way, i forgot to mention, the traffiic in HK is way way great than here :-D ahehe

waahhh! can’t believe that my vacation is over… don’t want to work yet… :( huhuhuhu….

i got Fahrenheit’s CD!!!! waaahhh! i’m so loving chun :-* and aaron too :-* XOXO

heard wu chun will be visiting the Philippines in July! lucky are the chun fans ;)

may day
Posted on May 1st, 2008 at 7:29 pm by Ann

The memo reads…

This is a note for all personnel in the Philippines.

The President of the Philippines has issued Proclamation No. 1463 declaring May 1, 2008, Thursday, as a Regular Holiday throughout the country in observance of Labor Day

Searched the phrase may 1 labor day ; Wikipedia has the following definition:

May Day occurs on May 1 and refers to any of several public holidays in many countries.May Day is synonymous with International Workers’ Day, or Labour Day, which celebrates the social and economic achievements of the labor movement. As a day of celebration, however, the holiday has ancient origins and can relate to many customs that have survived into modern times. Many of these customs are due to May Day being a cross-quarter day, meaning that it falls approximately halfway between a solstice and an equinox.

When we were little, May 1 rain = “miracle” rain. It was said that May 1st’s rain could cure illnesses and such and could even bring good luck. So whenever there’s a downpour on May 1, my siblings and I would bathe in the rain. I don’t know the reason behind this pamahiin/hearsay/belief, but I perceived May Day as such. I don’t even know where this “belief” originated. May 1, 2008 fell on Thursday; many thought that Labor Day will be moved on Friday since Friday will be a sandwich day. Well you can’t blame them to think this way since we’re used to “moving” the holidays to give way to long weekends. I’m not a party pooper or anything, don’t get me wrong, I do love long weekends since I could go to our province and spend more time with my family and more sleep for me :-P , and it’s just that, the frequent rescheduling of holidays, doesn’t bring the essence of the holiday; I mean, a holiday/celebration was set so that people could remember that “glorious” day. Holidays today, is just a holiday.

As for me, I got to spend my May Day in Trinoma with may roommates - she and kate. Glad to spend a day out of the office :-P ahehe.

Happy Labor Day to everyone :) hope you enjoyed your day off :)

LOST: Anawangin Special
Posted on April 30th, 2008 at 1:34 am by Ann

capones

April5 -7 – Abs, Etcu, Yam, Jill*, Yunan* and myself went to Anawangin, Zambales for the long weekend.

I was very excited, anxious even, because aside from the beach, we’ll be hiking as well :-D I’m not a mountaineer, an inexperienced climber. The only hiking experience that I had was in Mt. Makulot but that was Jurassic years ago so I was very nervous with this trip.
I researched and took a quick brown bag on what I’ll be expecting in the climb - things to bring, clothes to wear, all that stuff. I’m glad that my officemates are so helpful so is mr. google.
Dawn of April 5, we started our journey to Anawangin. It took us, I think, 4 hours of Victory Liner ride to place. We had a quick brunch and headed to the site through tricycle. Within 10-15 minutes, we’re in the foot of the mountain. There are two ways to Anawangin, 1. boat ride 2. trekking. We want to experience both paths so, we’ll hike then boat ride after the weekend :-)
Exciting huh? :-D
We started the trek past 11am. Sand, piles of rocks, talahib, bamboo trees, take fives came our way. 1pm came and it seems that we’re not getting closer to the summit. Then we met Maxine’s group – Maxine, Anzel, Nikko and TJ. They too got lost in the trail. After 5minutes of chit chat and rest, we started to find the trail again. The sun pinning our skin, lack of water, rashes and cuts from the long grasses, bilters; made our climb an agonizing one, aside from that fact that were not getting anywhere, the other group, got past us and gone to the wrong route, we had to wait for them.
Approximately 6pm, quite dark, we reached the peak! Yey! I was so thankful! My leg cramped a few steps to the summit and Yam had to carry my bag. Heck were at the top so that was fine :-P
From the summit we could see the beach, waiting for us. Eager to reach Anawangin, after a minute of rest, we started the trek again. Yunan advised the other group to stay with us because it’s quite dark at that time. Then again, they got past us. Climbing was hard, descending was even harder. 9pm… the beach is no where to found. Halt!

Yunan: “Iba na to… Magbaliktad kayo ng damit.”

Waaahhh! I was freakin scared. It seems that were just walking in circles. It seems that there was an element that was stopping us in reaching our destination.
After we changed our clothes inside out, we heard footsteps. The footsteps seems be getting closer to us. Bamboo branches breaking… We yelled asking if there’s someone’s there. Then the footsteps just vanished. Weird… freaking weird… terrified… We prayed and calmed ourselves.
Jill was making light signals, hoping that someone could find us…
Then we saw flickers of light! Waaahh! We’re saved!

Well that was what we thought….
The other light signal was coming from the other group. They’re lost as well…

It was too dark, and we’re too hungry and tired… we had to stay on the mountain overnight…

Thankful for the fresh water that Yunan and Yam found, we had a quick snack. Worried for the other group, Yunan and Jill went to find them. Abs, Yam, Etcu and I stayed in the camp site. Concerned with the Yunan, Jill and Maxine’s group’s situation, Abs and I stayed until 2am, hoping to see a signal or sign from them that they are okay. I was hesitant to sleep because I’ve been hearing strange noises… paranoid? Yes!

Amidst my paranoid state, I still found myself admiring the wonderful wide sky filled with stars and the breeze touching my face…
Morning came, and we’re so glad to see Yunan and the rest, safe :)

the rescue
